Dhcp is not updating dns

The Dns Update Proxy group, despite its description, had a domain admin account and the BES Service Account as members.

I did a bit of reading and discovered that the group should have DNS computer accounts in, if the zones are configured to only be updated securely - which they were. I am forever getting incorrect / outdated lookups when connecting to machines.

I've configured bind for d DNS and used ddns-update-style interim; update-static-leases on; key dhcpupdate zone 22.

dhcp is not updating dns-6

Discard A and PTR records when lease is deleted Dynamically update for DHCP clients that do not request updates As far as my understanding goes (which is clearly not far enough), DHCP should update DNS as soon as it itself updates.

Our DHCP was set to lease addresses for 1 day, for reasons which were never explained to me.

Under the SOA tab, the refresh interval is 15 minutes, retry is 10, and the expiration is 1 day. There are no DNS events in the log which suggest that something is set up wrong.

DHCP is set as follows: Enable DNS dynamic updates - always dynamically update DNS A and PTR records.

As I understand things, if you enable dynamic updating of DNS records on a DHCP scope on a windows DHCP server, the DHCP server will attempt to update the records of the FIRST DNS server on the scope's DNS server list.  Is there any way to change that behavior so that it uses an alternative DNS server for updates?
